Evoi Reserve Malbec 201895 Points

"Willyabrup fruit was hand picked and pressed to French barriques for wild ferment, mlf and 12 months' maturation. This is serious malbec. Wow. Intense fruit and layers of exotic spice and texture soar across the palate. It is lingering and long, dense and supple, all the while balanced by ripe, chewy acid and structured by firm – yet fine – tannins. Owner/winemaker Nigel Ludlow making a strong case for Margaret River malbec. Savoury, rather than sweet." Erin LarkinPublished 08 December 2020

Evoi The Luka 201895 Points

"70/20/10% cabernet sauvignon/petit verdot/malbec from Wilyabrup. Fermented in separate small parcels, manual punchdowns, ferment finished in barrique. Bottled unfined, minimally filtered. Brilliant ruby in colour, density and volume are the defining features in the mouth. Aromatically reticent at this stage, the layers and intensity of flavour on the palate suggests it needs further time in bottle. Built for the long haul and excellent for it." Evoi Reserve Chardonnay 201994 Points

"This is intensely worked and complex, layers of flavour and texture mingle with fruit and spice. Green melon, kiwifruit, yellow peach and guava. Hints of spicy pawpaw through the finish. Quite exotic and fine, the oak playing a significant role in the proceedings". Erin LarkinPublished 22 June 2021

Evoi Fume Blanc 201993 Points

"80/20% sauvignon/semillon. Herbaceous, grassy nose – it refrains from punchy by virtue of the complexities granted by time on lees, wild-yeast ferment, and a portion of barrel ferment. White spice, sweet sugar snap pea and spring florals are backed by an ashy, saline character. On the palate the wine is textural and fine, the acid plays a refreshing support role to the intense fruit, but overall this is spicier than it is punchy. Restrained and interesting with nectarine, crushed nuts and green apple skins." Erin LarkinPublished 01 March 2021

Evoi Cabernet Sauvignon 201893 Points

"90/10% cabernet sauvignon/malbec. Hand picked and fermented in separate small parcels, manual plunging. 12 months in barrique prior to bottling. Mariposa plum, tobacco leaf and cassis define the nose here, with no small contribution of black pepper. The palate follows suit; ripe, plush tannins round out the finish."
